The Big 8-7

If you know anything about me, you know my grandma
{AKA. Nannie}
means the absolute world to me.

Last Sunday we celebrated Nannie's birthday.
Her actual birthday was yesterday, but for scheduling conveniences, we celebrated over the weekend. That sassy little woman turned eighty-seven yesterday.

EIGHTY-SEVEN
87
100-13=87
Eight + Seven
Holy crap.

Actually, it didn't really register in my head how old that is until I started writing this post.
How blessed are we to have her in our life for such an extraordinary period of time.
If we could all be so lucky, right?

Yeah, she's old.
She farts and walks at the same time. She even farts and walks by people in public. She calls me Molly, even though my name is Lauren. She calls Molly, Lauren, even though Molly is her dog. She doesn't remember everything all the time. She drives 15 mph below the speed limit.

But I love her.
She loves unconditionally.
She's generous.
She's kind.
She's helpful.
She's intelligent.
She's my Nannie.

Here's how we celebrated:

Happy Birthday Nannie!
xoxo

  2. These are great photos - especially that first one. I wasn't fortunate to grow up near my grandparents. I was in California and they were in New York and New Jersey. But when my 91 year old grandpa (my only grandparent left) was able to fly out for our wedding it was truly the best gift ever. I can't wait to go visit him next month in NY!
