Five On Friday

It's Friday y'all!

So that means - Five on Friday with Christina at Carolina Charm and the rest of the ladies!

One

WE GOT OUR ENGAGEMENT PICTURES!
Here's a quick preview of what you'll see next week on the blog :)

Two

My sweet little student who was sick is doing MUCH better.
He will be returning to school the Monday after Thanksgiving Break.
As a class, we made him cards and according to his mom, they made him feel so much better!
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

Three

Our Save the Dates are created and sent off to be printed!
They're very simple, but I love them.
We chose to go with postcards for a couple reasons. For one, they're cheaper. I don't have to deal with stuffing envelopes. [I'll save that joyous event for our actual wedding invitations] And most people are going to throw them away anyway.
So whenever I get them, I will definitely be sharing them with all of y'all!

This was our inspiration:

Four

Without going into much detail just yet, Cody and I [and my mom now] have been dealing with a nightmare regarding my engagement ring. After a few calls to the jewelry store's corporate office, we're getting closer to figuring out a solution. I find out today if everything is going to work out in our favor. Let's hope so!

Five

Cody and I are heading to Athens this weekend for the Georgia vs. Kentucky game!
I planned on going to so many more games this year, but it obviously didn't work out like we hoped. But this is the last home game [ bye-bye Aaron Murray :( ], so we want to make sure we're there.

Go Dawgs!

Happy Friday!

A Teacher's Heart

I was quickly reminded Monday morning how much my students mean to me.

We started our day just like any other, with one student missing in particular.
It was an obvious difference.
A quieter difference, but not in a good way.
The rest of my kids and I started our day like we always do.
I had a brief second to check my email, and that's when I read the news.

The student of mine that was missing was very ill in the hospital.
For this student in particular, it was serious.

My heart dropped.
I looked at my kids, and realized they all hold a piece to my heart.
And one piece was missing.
We're a family.
When one is down, we're all down.

We're hoping for a speedy recovery, and can't wait to see this student back in class with the rest of the gang.

Saying lots of prayers today.
For all my kids.

Weekend Shenanigans: Backstreet's Back

I'm not going to complain about this Monday.
Monday's are always more motivational when you know the next week you have the ENTIRE week off.
I see the light at the end of the tunnel y'all.
We can make it!

This weekend was yet another relaxing one, as I spent the weekend at my mom's house.
Cody went hunting with my step-dad, Chuck.
So instead of spending the weekend alone at home, I headed over to my mom's house after school Friday evening.

We ended up staying in Friday night, eating pizza and watching TV.
I went to bed early, like usual.
My week's kick my butt.

Saturday, we woke up and did some shopping.
I got two cute lamps from Hobby Lobby, which was pretty exciting. :)

Georgia played an amazing game, despite losing very dramatically.
Couldn't be more proud of my Dawgs for coming back from a huge deficit, and almost beating the 7th ranked team in the country.
Incredible.
We went back to the house, and got ready for some friends coming over.
My mom invited her two girlfriends, and I was lucky enough to hang out with two of my bridesmaids, my sister, Whitney, and my friend, Kelly.

We had a pretty typical time.
Lots of fun. Lots of d...dancing.
And of course, reminiscing on the good ol' days with some 90's music on the boombox.
You know...
Backstreet Boys. Spice Girls. N'SYNC.
We got a little carried away.
Or maybe I just did.

The lounge?

I should get paid for these performances.

Sunday, I stayed in my pajamas until 4 that afternoon.
Amazing.

And Cody came home with some exciting news!
Well, not for the deer he brought back with him...

Not something I could do, but I was proud for Cody.
It's what he enjoys, and he had a good time with his future [step?] father-in-law.
Which means a lot to me.

And we then watched Jimmie Johnson win his 6th championship!!! :)

Hope everybody had a fantastic weekend!
Countdown to Thanksgiving Break begins NOW.

Throwback Thursday: The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry

Georgia and Auburn have been playing since 1892.
Which is why the game this Saturday is known as "The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry."
It's always a memorable game, and usually has a big impact on the SEC.

This year is going to be a little different, with Georgia not really in the SEC East race.
But it is a big game for Auburn, as they look to win out, including beating Alabama at the end of the season.

I have to say that I'm a realist in this situation, and I'll admit that Auburn should be slightly favored in the game on Saturday. But even with the Tigers favored, I'm still pumped for game time.

Here's a look back on previous Georgia/Auburn games over the last few years in Athens.

 November 2009

Believe it or not, Cody has not always been a Georgia fan.
When we first started dating, he liked Auburn.
You could say he saw the light and came to the good side. ;)
Just kidding...

I was lucky enough to grow up going to games every weekend.
I've always been exposed to this atmosphere, and was taught very early you like Georgia, and nobody else.

Cody was exposed to many different teams, never having one set team to cheer on every weekend.

We're lucky enough to have the ability to go to Georgia games since my dad has season tickets.
And since Cody's been sweet enough to go with me to a few games, he's learned to really like the Athens atmosphere and the university.

Cody and I started dating in 2009, so this was the first game we ever went to together.

Hoping for a surprise upset this weekend in Auburn :)
