Birthday In the Park

We celebrated Whitney's birthday this past weekend with lunch and cake at the park. The weather was a little chilly for a bit, but warmed up to be such a beautiful day spent with loved ones. Harper had never been to the park before, so it was super cute to watch her look around and take it all in. More trips to the park are in order! BBQ for lunch and Oreo ice cream cake to celebrate Aunt Whitney turning 24 was just what we needed to end a fun weekend.

Harper's First Easter

Even though Easter was a couple weekends ago now, I still wanted to share some pictures from our holiday since it was such a special one with it being Harper's first Easter. As a parent now, holidays have taken on a whole new meaning. I probably was more excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought Harper than she was - a three month old can only get so excited, ya know. In the future, we plan on explaining to her the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter, and making our weekend more geared towards that, but this year, was more simple since she's so young.

The Saturday before, we spent our day at Cody's parents' house. We had lunch together, and just hung out which was nice and relaxing. The weather this year for Easter was kinda icky, so we weren't able to get outside too much. Only enough time to take a few pictures of us with our little chick - who was completely unamused.

The Easter Bunny dropped off some goodies for Harper on Easter morning!

We had a slow morning, and enjoyed our time together as a family. We went through Harper's Easter goodies before we headed to my mom's house for dinner.

Hopefully Harper enjoyed her first Easter just as much as mommy and daddy did!

Five on Friday | Vol. I

It's been so long y'all!

I haven't linked up with the Five on Friday ladies in at least over a year, and never with the new blog. With this mama on Spring Break - starting T O D A Y - I thought I'd jump right back in!

We had a great Easter last weekend!

I'm blaming the working-mama-life on not sharing Harper's first Easter yet on the blog just yet - or maybe I should blame my baby waking up at 3am wide awake, having a party in her sleeper, for feeling way too exhausted to work up any energy to muster up a blog post.

That sounds about right.

I digress.

Like I said - we had a great weekend!

We celebrated all weekend long with family. The Easter bunny made a visit to Harper, and mama was probably more excited about it than the baby. Having a child definitely makes holidays so much more fun on so many different levels!

I finally pulled the trigger with opening a Teachers Pay Teachers store!

I've wanted to for so long now, and finally decided to go for it this past week.

Having Harper really has encouraged me to open up this door and try something different to possibly bring in a tiny bit more income. Planning lessons and creating resources has always been one of my favorite parts of teaching, and TpT is a great way to express some creativity!

I have a few resources up already, and hope to work on some more with this week off from school!

Y'all can visit my store

teacher friends!

Tomorrow this mom and her mom bod are going to be in complete shock because she's going to ...run... a 5K! And I say run loosely. Participate probably is more realistic.

My bestie, Ashley, sister, Whitney, mom, and others are going to do the COLOR RUN!

We had so much fun a few years ago, we had to do it again for my sister's birthday! It should be really fun!

Wish me luck that I survive.

But seriously, though.

Last week, I got the sweetest pictures back from my bestie/personal photographer, Ashley!

She was sweet enough to take pictures of these ladies above at my grandparents house a couple months back after my grandfather passed away. It was really important for me to have these sweet memories and share them with my little love, Harper, so she could have a memory of this special place. I completely love these pictures, and completely love Ashley for doing it! I can't wait to share more!

Ten days off with this little babe...

Calls for tiny, sparkly hats.
My week is made!

Happy Friday y'all!

Harper | Three Months

Harper girl - You are the light of our lives. You'll never know how truly grateful we are to be your parents. Our love for you grows every minute of every day. You keep us on our toes, but also keep us constantly smiling and laughing at your new tricks. Keep growing, sweet girl. You amaze us more and more each day!

Here are a few little things about you from your third month:

Nicknames: Harpie, Hot Rod, Harps

Weight: At your doctor's appointment last week you weighed in at 13 pounds 3 ounces! We're loving those chubby little thighs!

Height: At your two month checkup, you were 23 inches long! The nurse even measured you twice because she couldn't believe how long you were.

Looks: We've heard more people say recently you look like mommy - which makes mommy extremely happy since she carried you for nine months... But we still think you look like daddy! Your hair seems to be lightening up just a tad and definitely getting longer by the day. Eyes seem to be getting lighter too - mama's still crossing her fingers you have daddy's eyes. Your dimples still make our hearts melt!

Personality: You're a pro at hamming it up. You're smiling all the time now, and talk SO MUCH. You're definitely our little chatterbox! You're a pretty easy-going baby, but will let us know when you don't like something - very loudly! There's definitely a touch of sass...

Eating: We pretty much have had to cut out breast milk and go to straight formula since mama has been back at work, especially. You were diagnosed with acid reflux a couple weeks ago, so we're having a hard time with your keeping your formula down about an hour or two after you eat. Hopefully your medicine will kick in soon, so you'll feel a little bit better!

Sleeping: You're kinda all over the place with sleeping sometimes. You still enjoy boycotting naps, unless you're being held. You fall asleep really well, but are waking up once a night normally. You're getting too long for your newborn rocker - probably because you're not a newborn anymore! - so we're going to start transitioning you to your crib pretty soon.

Wearing: Most of your clothes are 0-3 months, but pants are turning into capris. You can wear 3-6 month onesies for length, but 3-6 clothes are a tiny bit big.

Favorite Things: TALKING! You pretty much talk our ears off all day. The nurses at the doctor's office love your little chats. You love smiling, sitting in your bouncy seat, your play mats, paci's, smiling, and mornings!

Least Favorite Things: Shots :( getting hot, sun in your eyes, car seat most days, and the time between 5:30pm-7:30pm...

Within the last month:
  • You've turned into quite the talker!
  • You met your Aunt Brittany and besties, Luke + Avery
  • We celebrated Valentine's Day with Chinese food, flowers, and a night at home!
  • You saw Uncle Cale and Aunt Anissa's new house for the first time
  • You had your first round of shots at the doctor, and it was miserable for all involved
  • Mommy went back to work and misses our days so much!
  • You visited Nannie at her new apartment and we love it!
  • You met your other set of great grandparents, Grandpa Sims + Charlotte and even saw Grandpa Alan
  • We started spending more time outside since the weather has been so nice!
  • You're learning how to grab things and pull them to your mouth
