Sunshine On My Mind { A Summer Vacation Link-Up }

Hi y'all - It's Monday!
And I'm not sure how it's here already.
Wasn't yesterday Friday?

This week could end up being yet another interesting one...
We're expecting MORE snow and MORE ice.
I don't think I'm ever going to get summer vacation at this rate.
We'll be making up days forever!

Our last winter storm was enough for me.
And now I'm ready for my toes in the sand and a cold drink in my hand.
What about you?

If you're completely over this cold weather crap like I am...

THROW YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR.
WAVE 'EM AROUND LIKE YOU JUST DON'T CARE.
No just kidding.

Instead, link-up with Miranda from Life in the Lowcountry & me [Lauren] for our wishing for summer, dreaming of salty air, vacation link-up!
And then, if you want, wave your hands however you wish.

Life in the Lowcountry

Miranda had this completely logical link-up to shed everyone's wintertime blues, and share everyone's plans for their spring/summer vacation plans. You know, get everyone in the right mind frame. A Sunshine On My Mind mind frame. :)

If you don't have any plans yet, no worries!
You can still link-up with us to share what your dream summer vacation would be, or one of your favorite summertime vacations from the past.

The link-up will be open starting today until Friday, so feel free to join in anytime this week!

---

For the first time in a long time, I'll actually be going on vacation this summer.
Not just any vacation - my honeymoon. :)
 So exciting, right?
Especially considering Cody & I have NEVER been on a beach vacation together in the five years that we've been dating. We've never even seen the beach together!

We haven't booked our honeymoon yet for a couple reasons.
But the main reason at this point is, we don't know what week Cody will be allowed off from work. Hopefully we can find out soon, and get something set in stone so I can be even more pumped up than I already am!

I thought for today's link-up, I'd share a few places we're considering [and some just dreaming of] to spend a few days together as husband and wife.

First up... A 5-day cruise to Turks & Caicos, Half Moon Cay, Bahamas and Nassau, Bahamas.

A Sandals resort in possibly St. Lucia...

via
Heading a little south of the border to Cabos San Lucas...

via
Or my personal [unrealistic] dream... Belize.

via
After all this cold weather this year, I think any of these places would work juuuuust fine. :)

What does your summer vacation look like? What about your dream vacation? A past vacation?

Shed those winter blues for some sunshine on your mind and link-up with us this week!
Grab the button at the top & link back with one of us.
Happy Monday y'all!

  1. Such a good idea for a link up! I think we're all over this cold weather. All these look like amazing choices! I don't think you could go wrong with any! It took us months to finally decide to choose St. Martin as our honeymoon destination. I've heard nothing but good things about the Sandals in St. Lucia :-)

  2. We honeymooned in Montego Bay at a Sandals resort and LOVED it! We were originally going to go with St. Lucia, but it was a couple hours from the airport which made me nervous, and they said the couples there were mostly older couples compared to Montego Bay. I honestly don't know for sure, because we haven't stayed at the St. Lucia resort, but thought I'd tell you what we'd been told. Any way you go, you will have a great time because you're on your honeymoon in a tropical paradise!

  3. Your choices look fabulous!!! I don't think you could go wrong with any of the above. My dream (budget busting/unrealistic) trip was Bora Bora. We are settling with Costa Rica though. Thanks for hosting the link up! It was fun to think of warm destinations and weather instead of the negative temps and snow that is currently outside :)

  5. All of those locations sound absolutely amazing! Dan and I are visiting some of the places on the cruise we are going in a few weeks so I'll have to let you know what we think of those ports. And Cabo for us is always a go to place. It's one of my favorite trips we've ever gone on! I'm sure no matter which one you choose, you'll have a fabulous time!!

  8. Those pictures are gorgeous! I've never been to a beach with my husband in all our 7 year together and I've actually never been to a tropical beach! It's definitely on my bucket list- I'm waiting for my parents to take us to Hawaii, haha!

  10. I am so sorry, I was snowed under at work yesterday and didn't get to do the link-up. I will try to knock it out later this week since it doesn't close for three days. We loved MEXICO, but would also love St. Lucia. You most def would want to do an all inclusive resort where you can have unlimited drinks and food!!!
