Weekend Shenanigans: Lazy Fall Days

It's Monday again y'all.
Aren't we thrilled?

Lucky for me, I have a short week.
I decided to take Friday off for "personal leave."
AKA. Engagement Pictures

I know I don't want it to be a stressful day.
The more relaxing the better, and I have a bunch to do in preparation.
I might be taking this too seriously?

Anyway, onto my Weekend Shenanigans, linking up with Sami at Sami's Shenanigans.

Friday, Cody and I had a dinner date.
HE even suggested we go to my FAVORITE restaurant in the whole world, Cheeky.
And that was extremely rare, because he doesn't care for it.
Although, I think his mind might have changed Friday night.
Or at least I hope so! :)

Saturday, we slept a lot later than we planned.
But it was soooooo worth it.
We got up and got ready to watch the Georgia game.

Maci and I were twins, so we had to snap some "mommy and mini" pictures!

Unfortunately, the game didn't go like we hoped.
In fact, it went the complete opposite.
Actually, I think the season has started to go in a direction that no Georgia fan expected.
In the college football world, it seems like a lot of fans can say that now after Saturday.
Lots of surprises. Lots of upsets And lots of injuries.

But nonetheless, we cheered on our Dawgs and will continue doing so through the ups and downs.

  Maci doesn't care either way.
As long as her belly gets rubbed.

Cody and I planned on going shopping for engagement picture outfits after the game, but it didn't quite work out like we planned.
We're going to have to scramble within the next few days to make sure we look extra good lookin' by Friday.

I did find some props for our pictures, that I'm pretty excited for!
Thank you TJ Maxx.

Totally excited to see how we can use these.

Sunday, I headed to my mom's house, Hank and Maci in tow.
Cody was working the Falcon's game against Tampa Bay, so I figured it was a good day to go shopping.
Whitney, my sister, tagged along and helped me pick out some clothes and jewelry for our pictures.

I'll keep them a secret until our pictures :)
I think it's going to look pretty cute!
Let y'all know soon!

I hope your weekend was wonderful, and your week is even better!

How Pinteresting: Fall Pumpkins

I have to say that Tuesday is my LEAST favorite day of the week.
The long week lies in front of you, and the weekend seems  so far off.

I'm loving my weekends lately, especially with all these fall festivities.
After I finally accepted fall was here to stay, and my warm summer mornings were long gone, I have embraced the season.

Pinterest has me going crazy over all the fall recipes, decorations and PUMPKINS.
Nobody just carves pumpkins anymore.
Those days are over.

Here are a few of my favorite pumpkin ideas for the fall season.

VIA
I LOVE the idea of decorating pumpkins not just for Halloween, but for Thanksgiving as well.
The white pumpkins match any decor, and the cute fall floral arrangement would be adorable on any Thanksgiving table or entry way.

If you want to know how to make the pumpkin above, just click the link and there's an easy how-to on how to make your own!

VIA
Who said pumpkins have to be orange, black or white?
These would adorable for kids to do, or adults like me who are obsessed with anything colorful.

VIA

I love the classic look of the spray painted white and gold pumpkins.
The gold leaves look extra "fall-ish" and would look GORGEOUS on a Thanksgiving tablescape.

VIA Pinterest
What girl doesn't love a monogram?
We monogram everything else, so why not a pumpkin?

VIA Pinterest
A girl I knew in college instagramed/pinned her pumpkin today, and I thought it was an adorable idea!
She just got married a couple of weeks ago, explaining the "est. 2013."
I love this idea for newlyweds, or any married couple for that matter!
Plus, the burlap chevron ribbon adds the perfect touch.

VIA Pinterest
I'm a sucker for ribbon.
And this idea is simple and easy, but adorable.

VIA Pinterest
And last, but not least, the most adorable Halloween pumpkin.
Buttons are cheap, and easy to apply with a hot glue gun.
And you can't forget the cute ribbon to top it off. :)

Happy Fall Y'all!

Weekend Shenanigans: Not What I Expected

Well, it wasn't the weekend I expected.
I was so pumped up for the weekend I planned in my head, and it was pretty much nothing like I expected.

For one, I expected to go to the Georgia game, and for them to actually WIN. BUST.
I expected to sleep in on Saturday, but no.
I planned on grading all my papers, but I didn't.

It was completely different.
Here's my unexpected weekend:

Friday, I picked up Maci from my mom's house on my way home from work.
She was in a festive mood.
Unexpected.

That night, Cody and I went on a date to Outback.
I'm on this new salmon kick.
Unexpected.
I never liked fish, until Cody made me try salmon a couple weeks ago.
And I'm glad he did!
It is awesome. And healthy.

Honestly, it wasn't the best date we ever had.
And I'm sure he would agree.
Which was unexpected, because we normally always have a good time just the two of us.
We were both exhausted from the week, and our tiredness got the best of us.
We both knew we were pooped, and as soon as we got home, we passed out.

Lucky for us, are hopes of sleeping in were crushed.
Should have been expected, but we were apparently naive.
Hank woke us up at 6:47am, banging on his crate to go out.
We ended up getting ready early, going grocery shopping for the game.
Ashley and Paul were coming over to watch the game, so we wanted some game snacks.

We didn't end up going to Athens for a couple reasons.
Unexpected.
One, we were pooped.
Two, we don't need to spend that much money, since we're planning on heading to Jacksonville for the Georgia/Florida game at the end of the month.

And maybe, we should have gone to cheer them on because obviously they needed it.
Unexpected loss.
They didn't play "grown man football."
They played "half our team is hurt, and our defense doesn't know what to do half the time football."
Of course, I was sad, but life goes on.

Saturday night, we headed to a local fall festival with Paul and Ashley.
Unexpected.
We did some shopping and walking around, but nothing crazy.
We ended our night at Wild Wing for dinner.

Sunday, Cody was sweet enough to let me sleep until 11.
Expected. He's very good at that.
I LOVE YOU FOR THAT :)

We had lunch together, did some driving around, and ended our day watching movies and Netflix on the couch. It was wonderful.
But again, unexpected.
Even though I have a million and three papers to grade, I wouldn't have traded that for the world.

I hope your weekend was fabulous, and maybe unexpected in a good way!
I have some wonderful wedding news to tell y'all about later this week!
UNEXPECTED.
