Will You Be Our Ring Bearer?

I know it's Tuesday and not Wednesday when I typically do my wedding posts, but I just couldn't help sharing our exciting wedding related news a day early! If you're worried about not getting your typical dose of "Wedding Wednesday," don't worry your little heart. I'm doubling up this week with wedding posts, so "Wedding Wednesday" is still on! Now, if you can't stand reading wedding junk, then you're out of luck. ;)
Yesterday, I mentioned my trip to Alabama to see Brittany & Luke.
In case you missed it, you can check it out here. I promise the wrist rolls are worth the look. I went down to Auburn, to not only spend time with some of my favorite people, but to also ask sweet baby Luke a very important question...

"Will you be our ring bearer?"

Luke may not have had ANY clue what it read, what I asked, what his title entails, but I took this sweet face (along with a "yes" from mama) as a "yes." :)

The monkey totally sealed the deal.

Necktie-Graphic Bodysuit | Sippy Cup @ Target (in store only) | Plush Monkey @ Target (in store only) | Little Blue Truck Board Book

With Luke being under a year old, I wanted to keep the gift age appropriate, but something related to being a ring bearer.

Necktie-Graphic Bodysuit: I chose the tie onesie because it fit the 'ring bearer' title - plus it was so stinkin' cute and so very dapper!

'Little Blue Truck' Book: I knew I wanted a book, because DUH! I'm a teacher, and that's what I do.

Sippy Cup: I knew the sippy cup was a little over his age at the moment, but it's something he can "grow into," and it had a weenie dog on it, which sold me immediately.

Plush Monkey: The monkey was soft and plush, perfect for cuddling. Although, Brittany's dog seemed to like it more than Luke, but that's okay! ;)

And last, but not least, the bucket was found in the dollar section at Target, and I just added a Hobby Lobby ribbon to add some extra cuteness.

This project was so simple, but perfect for him. I knew I wanted to make him feel special like I tried to do asking our whole bridal party. If you missed how we asked the rest of our wedding party, check it out here:
Bridesmaids | Groomsmen | Flower Girl
Cody & I are so excited to have Luke as a sweet addition to our wedding party!
53 more days for Luke to practice his duties. ;)

My Alabama Peanut

Last week, I mentioned I drove down to Alabama on my Spring Break to see one of my good friends, Brittany. Well, not just Brittany. But her sweet little peanut of a little boy, Luke!
I hadn't seen them since February (remember the "baby fever" post here?), so I was due for some baby loving and hanging out with my college roomie. So with me having a week off last week, it was perfect timing!

I was so thankful Brittany was sweet enough to let me spend a couple days with them. I even brought my own little fur babe, Maci, along since she's still completely in love with Brittany's dogs, even after two years. Luke had gotten so big and was still as sweet as ever.
I had such a good time! I'm so glad I get to see them for the next two weekends!

Here are a few pictures from the trip!
Mostly of the peanut. And I don't apologize for picture overload. :)

Brace yourself for the wrist roll...

I realized baby socks were the second cutest thing ever, right behind wrist rolls.

We even learned baby planks...

Legs of steel. Grrr. But sweet piggies.
A bulldog booty.

And with this sweet face, Cody & I just had to ask him a very important question...

But that will have to wait until tomorrow! :)

Have a great Monday everyone!

Five on Friday

It's Friday!
But honestly I'm kinda bummed that it's Friday.
Today is the last day of my Spring Break, and come Monday, it'll be back to my little 2nd grade babies. But we'll still celebrate with Christina @ Carolina Charm & the Five on Friday ladies nonetheless.

one.

Like I mentioned, this past weekend was Spring Break!
Do you hear angels singing? I sure did!
It didn't go exactly like I planned, but it was just enjoyable not to wake up at 4:30am, not spend 2 hours driving in traffic to and from work, and let's be honest - a break from 2nd grade tattling was most enjoyable! I loved spending the week catching up on laundry (never thought I would say that!), spending time with family & friends, and even enjoying the warmth of spring with my fur babies.
Talk about looking forward to summer vacation!

two.

On my break, I was lucky enough to visit one of my bridesmaids in Alabama.
I just spent a day with Brittany and her peanut, Luke, but it was so sweet spending time with them. I can't wait to see them again!

Luke may or may not have said "yes" to being our ring bearer.
You'll have to find out next week. ;)
three.

If you've been reading my blog for the last two months, you already know about my weight loss adventure with Weight Watchers. But in case you're a new reader, a couple months ago (February 10th to be exact) I started the program. With the wedding coming up, and me not feeling my best in general, I decided it would be for the best to try and start a healthier lifestyle. With WW, you're able to still eat normally, just more so with portion control and making better choices. I have loved the program, and have seen results almost every week.
Honestly, I haven't had all the time in the world to exercise, but I try my best to squeeze it in as best I can. So mostly my progress has been with some exercise, but mostly portion control and making better choices when I eat.

With that being said, I'm proud to say that this week, I finally reached my FIRST weight goal! YAAAAAAAY!
A total (so far) of -10 pounds!
To say that I'm excited is an understatement!

I hope to share more about how I'm eating and the weight loss journey on the blog in the next upcoming weeks. As for now, I have a new goal I set for myself, but I couldn't help celebrating just a little...

I did not feel any regret - don't worry. :)

four.

We sent out our invitations this week and it has been sooo exciting to check the mail ever since! I love looking to see who says they're coming on June 7th. The mail lady is my new favorite person. :)

You can check the rest of our invitations here.
five.

There's been a lot of wedding details crossed off the list recently.

We've sent the invitations.
Bought bridesmaid necklaces & getting reading attire.
Mom has a wedding dress.
Found the PERFECT wedding day heels.

Had a successful meeting with the wedding planner last night discussing time line and details.
And tomorrow I have my first dress fitting, which is crazy!

There is still so much to do, but it's relieving to see it coming along!
Can't wait to share more with y'all!

Happy almost weekend!

Birthdays Mean Cupcakes

Last Sunday, we celebrated my little sister's birthday.
Her birthday is actually April 2nd, but we got together with family over the weekend.
Whitney turned 22, which makes me feel old because I don't even feel like I should be 24.

I always have loved Whitney's birthday for a few reasons.
1. It's in April, so it's Spring.
I like Spring, and it makes me jealous because mine is in winter when it's all icky.
2. Usually it's on or near Spring Break.
Which I like even more.
 3. It always let me know that the end of the school year was near.
And I really, really like that.
 4. And I guess because Whitney was born, too. ;)
Such a sister attitude to have, right?
She knows I'm kidding!

We celebrated with family at my mom's house, enjoying a delicious dinner together.
We completed the evening with a couple (ha...a couple) cupcakes from Gigi's.
MY FAVORITE PART.

Here's a few pictures from the day:

Enjoy 22 Whitney!
