Bumpdate || Twenty-Six

How far along: 26 weeks - last week in the 2nd trimester! (what...)

Due Date: December 17, 2015

Baby is the size of: A head of lettuce - about 14 inches.

Symptoms: Pretty bad back pain, but it's in my upper back. Doctor said it's probably due to a change in posture, so the littlest things can agitate the muscles. Just sitting in a chair is pretty uncomfortable... Swollen feet and ankles towards the end of the week if I've stood a lot. Exhaustion creeps in there too around Thursday/Friday.

Gender: A little girl! How did we get so lucky? Post here.

Name: Harper Elizabeth. Post here.

Movement: Holy cow. We have a wild woman on our hands. I never really felt her much when I was standing throughout the day or walking, but this has been a different story. Sometimes I just can't help but laugh out loud, but she's moving so much with no end in sight. I know I'm going to miss those little kicks one day.

Nursery: My sweet husband put together the crib while I was at my gifted class on Tuesday! The dresser should put in soon, and then the big pieces are done. I'll have all the fun decorating left to do! I found a bed sheet that I LOVE. But I don't love the price. But I think I'll end up comparing it to everything else I find now. The struggle.

Maternity Clothes: A sweet friend at work gave me a whole bag of maternity clothes to borrow. I thought it was the sweetest. :) Definite maternity pants. Dresses are a mix. Shirts are a mix.

Sleep: I keep reading about how I'm not going to sleep here soon...So I'm enjoying sleeping like a baby most nights.

Best Moment This Week: We heard little girl's heartbeat this week - 149! I have one more appointment next month before we start going every two weeks. This is getting real.

Missing Anything: Nothing I can't live without at this point.

Cravings/Aversions: Giant blueberry muffins. Yum.

Mood: Excited to meet our little girl. Overwhelmed with work and feeling like I can never catch up. Probably need to start on those maternity leave plans...

Husband: Wonderful! Put together our crib the day it arrived while I was in class. Given me a few back rubs to help with my sore back. And has managed to make it to every doctor's appointment for the last (almost) seven months. I love him.

Looking Forward To: Hopefully making some progress on her nursery. I know the end is sneaking up on us, and I'd like to be prepared in case of an early arrival.

I Don't Care If You Read My Blog

Sounds a little harsh doesn't it...
But I'm sorry I'm not sorry.

Think about why you blog for a second.
Do you blog to make money? Do you blog for sponsorship's? Do you blog for fun? Do you blog to share ideas? Do you blog to keep up with your life memories? For some of those reasons, you may care about who reads your blog and how many shares it gets on Pinterest and how many comments you receive. And that's FINE!

But I don't blog for any other reason than for my memories. And that's FINE too.
I blog because I want to look back one day on all my posts, and be able to reminisce on my life with my family and my friends. In other words, I don't blog for YOU. I blog for ME.
It's pretty obvious with the majority of my posts.
Sometimes I'll share ideas or sometimes I'll share tips from my past experiences. But the majority of my posts are (as of recent especially) bumpdates or what's been going on in my life. For some that may be boring, but I really don't care. My weekly bumpdates, my long baby posts, my living room, my iPhone pictures, are all posted on here for me.

So if you've lost interest (which you probably wouldn't be reading this anyway), that's more than fine. If bumpdates aren't your thing, that's cool. But I won't be upset or disgruntled because of less followers and less comments due to baby related posts. It's what's important to me right now, and that's all that matters.

I know it's a bit of a rant. But every blogger is entitled to let it out every now and then, right? For those who have stuck around and share sweet comments weekly, thank you! Even though I am blogging just for me, I do love the friends and community that show me support without even really knowing me. I think y'all are awesome. :)

Aaaaaaand.... end rant.

Bumpdate || Twenty-Five

How far along: 25 weeks

Due Date: December 17, 2015

Baby is the size of: A cauliflower - a little over 13 inches. I kinda can't believe she's that big already!

Symptoms: A case of pregnancy brain - putting my face wash in the closet, aluminum foil in the fridge...what. Sore feet and legs after a few loooooooong days of standing and walking. Swollen feet and ankles. Leg cramps occasionally. Acne is still lingering - I'm guessing it's going to be there until the end.

Gender: Our little baby girl! Post here.

Name: Harper Elizabeth. Post here.

Movement: Not as much as last week, but she's moving around a lot regardless. I feel way more elbows and arms, where before it was mostly feet and legs. She's a busy little girl all throughout the day. And the bigger she gets the less room she's going to have.

Nursery: Like I mentioned last week, her room is painted! Her glider arrived last week, and Cody put it together for the most part. Mattress arrived also, so next up will be her crib hopefully by Tuesday! This bedding is driving me crazy - I can't find anything I love that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg!

Maternity Clothes: Pants are all maternity. Shirts are a mix still. Dresses, depending on the material are mixed. The dress above that I wore to the Georgia game was not maternity since it's pretty stretchy.

Sleep: I can't complain about sleep yet. I may take a restroom break, but I sleep perfectly fine. I find myself waking up on my back all the time! I don't know how to stop it.

Best Moment This Week: Glad we got to share a little piece of Athens with our babe this week! I can't wait to take her next year, and make her the cutest little Bulldog around town!

Missing Anything: Not much of anything - I still would like a Publix sub immediately after delivery, but I can wait for it.

Cravings/Aversions: I probably could eat pizza every day even when I'm not pregnant, but I've wanted it really bad here recently. And random enough, blueberry muffins.

Mood: Still pretty happy most days, getting excited to meet our little girl in December! I have moody moments - and 9 times out of 10 it's because I'm either hungry or exhausted.

Husband: Loving our little girl more than ever. Lots of belly rubs and conversations. Helped me clean the house on Sunday, which makes any girl happy!

Looking Forward To: We have our September doctor's appointment on Thursday. I do have my glucose test (not that I'm looking forward to it) but I like hearing her heartbeat and knowing we're one doctor's appointment closer to meeting our little babe.

A Place That Will Get In Your Blood & Stay Forever

This weekend, Cody and I headed back to Athens for another season of Georgia football. We've become regular Athens visitors over the last few months, since we've moved a lot closer and do a lot of our shopping, eating out, and baby doctor visits around the area. But there's just something more special about my favorite southern city once September rolls around.

I've been spending my fall Saturdays in Athens for quite some time now - regularly for the last thirteen years, but on and off for my entire life, thanks to a Georgia obsessed dad. But even after so many years of chilly fall mornings, tailgates, and football games, I somehow grow to love the town, the school, the campus, and the football team just a little bit more each time. It's a forever growing kind of love.

This year has started off a little different than the rest.
This year I'm tailgating for two.

It was a little weird being back for another season with a pregnant belly in tow. But walking through downtown, on campus and eventually standing in the stadium, I couldn't help but wonder what next season will be like with a 9 month old. I thought about how much I loved everything about gameday. And I just kept thinking about all the memories and traditions I want to share with her. This place has been a huge part of my life, and I've grown to love and appreciate it so much more the older I've gotten.

As I stood in front of the infamous arches, I couldn't help but hope and dream that Harper loves this place as much as I do. I hope she can look back one day and think back on the fall Saturdays, and cherish the memories she's shared with her real family, and her football family. I hope that Athens is a place that gets in her blood, and stays forever.
