I Don't Care If You Read My Blog
Sounds a little harsh doesn't it...
But I'm sorry I'm not sorry.
Think about why you blog for a second.
Do you blog to make money? Do you blog for sponsorship's? Do you blog for fun? Do you blog to share ideas? Do you blog to keep up with your life memories? For some of those reasons, you may care about who reads your blog and how many shares it gets on Pinterest and how many comments you receive. And that's FINE!
But I don't blog for any other reason than for my memories. And that's FINE too.
I blog because I want to look back one day on all my posts, and be able to reminisce on my life with my family and my friends. In other words, I don't blog for YOU. I blog for ME.
It's pretty obvious with the majority of my posts.
Sometimes I'll share ideas or sometimes I'll share tips from my past experiences. But the majority of my posts are (as of recent especially) bumpdates or what's been going on in my life. For some that may be boring, but I really don't care. My weekly bumpdates, my long baby posts, my living room, my iPhone pictures, are all posted on here for me.
So if you've lost interest (which you probably wouldn't be reading this anyway), that's more than fine. If bumpdates aren't your thing, that's cool. But I won't be upset or disgruntled because of less followers and less comments due to baby related posts. It's what's important to me right now, and that's all that matters.
I know it's a bit of a rant. But every blogger is entitled to let it out every now and then, right? For those who have stuck around and share sweet comments weekly, thank you! Even though I am blogging just for me, I do love the friends and community that show me support without even really knowing me. I think y'all are awesome. :)
Aaaaaaand.... end rant.
I feel very similarly! I feel like I'm capturing my memories in a place I like. Also it's so fun to follow along with others - like you! I'm loving following along with your pregnancy and so happy for you and your hubby!
ReplyDeleteI love your baby posts and your living room ;D
ReplyDeleteAmen! I started a pregnancy journal and then realized that I already have a pregnancy journal through my blog! I'm so excited to look back on this journey years from now and re-read all my pregnancy posts!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I've been out of the blogging world for a while but have enjoyed your bump pictures on instagram! No one should dictate what you blog about but you!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure reading your blog! I enjoy reading about your pregnancy, new home and being a teacher! You are great! Take care, Bobbie Buckley
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post that I think many bloggers need to be reminded of! I'm bummed I didn't start blogging during our engagement/wedding because now I don't have all those memories written down. Anyways, love your posts!
ReplyDeleteI really hope someone didn't leave you some "hater mail" and this is where this is coming from! I love your bumpdates! I so WISH that I had the mental capacity to blog right now because I would love to have a "journal" of our engagement, but I'm one fry short of a happy meal each day haha! Keep on writing!
ReplyDeleteI feel the EXACT same way, and I even had this same mini-rant in one of my bumpdate posts. Some of my posts are like journal entries or letters, especially to my baby, and others are just recaps. Long story short, they're pretty much all over the place, but I want to blog to document this super exciting time in my life- and so that my husband can remember things because he has a terrible memory =) Haha anyway, I'm a reader that will be sticking around. I missed your blog when you took that little break!
ReplyDeletepreach! I love blogging because it's an outlet for the writer in me who's in a job that contains no writing...

rant on!! Your blog - you talk about whatever you like and heck, I'm almost 40, done with kids and still find your blog fun and look forward to reading!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I love reading your little blog and all the baby updates! It is so nice to read others pregnancy journey so I can know what to expect down the road.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree! I blog to keep up with my memories/life...it's an online journal for the world to read!
It's good that you're not afraid to say that loud! It's refreshing to see people who blog just for what it: sharing! I will stick around for sure ;)
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are not alone. Keep doing - and blogging about - what makes you happy :)
