Bumpdate || Twenty-Six

How far along: 26 weeks - last week in the 2nd trimester! (what...)

Due Date: December 17, 2015

Baby is the size of: A head of lettuce - about 14 inches.

Symptoms: Pretty bad back pain, but it's in my upper back. Doctor said it's probably due to a change in posture, so the littlest things can agitate the muscles. Just sitting in a chair is pretty uncomfortable... Swollen feet and ankles towards the end of the week if I've stood a lot. Exhaustion creeps in there too around Thursday/Friday.

Gender: A little girl! How did we get so lucky? Post here.

Name: Harper Elizabeth. Post here.

Movement: Holy cow. We have a wild woman on our hands. I never really felt her much when I was standing throughout the day or walking, but this has been a different story. Sometimes I just can't help but laugh out loud, but she's moving so much with no end in sight. I know I'm going to miss those little kicks one day.

Nursery: My sweet husband put together the crib while I was at my gifted class on Tuesday! The dresser should put in soon, and then the big pieces are done. I'll have all the fun decorating left to do! I found a bed sheet that I LOVE. But I don't love the price. But I think I'll end up comparing it to everything else I find now. The struggle.

Maternity Clothes: A sweet friend at work gave me a whole bag of maternity clothes to borrow. I thought it was the sweetest. :) Definite maternity pants. Dresses are a mix. Shirts are a mix.

Sleep: I keep reading about how I'm not going to sleep here soon...So I'm enjoying sleeping like a baby most nights.

Best Moment This Week: We heard little girl's heartbeat this week - 149! I have one more appointment next month before we start going every two weeks. This is getting real.

Missing Anything: Nothing I can't live without at this point.

Cravings/Aversions: Giant blueberry muffins. Yum.

Mood: Excited to meet our little girl. Overwhelmed with work and feeling like I can never catch up. Probably need to start on those maternity leave plans...

Husband: Wonderful! Put together our crib the day it arrived while I was in class. Given me a few back rubs to help with my sore back. And has managed to make it to every doctor's appointment for the last (almost) seven months. I love him.

Looking Forward To: Hopefully making some progress on her nursery. I know the end is sneaking up on us, and I'd like to be prepared in case of an early arrival.

  1. Whoa, almost at the third trimester! Before you know it you will be 37 weeks. I hope your fatigue lets up a bit. I am still rocking daily naps after school most days.

  5. So exciting that the crib is put together! I can't believe you're going to be in your third trimester already =) I LOVED the third trimester because I loved being so recognizably pregnant. Sleep problems didn't start for me at all until the very very end (like, 40+ weeks ha), and I think it was just anxiety, so maybe you'll get lucky too!
