Honeymoon |Part One|: Daytona Beach
I'm back Peach State readers!
It's so nice to be back home with family, friends and fur babies, but I wouldn't have minded stretching out our honeymoon a couple days longer... We had an absolute blast together, and are already talking about the next vacation we want to take as husband and wife.
I had such awesome guest bloggers while I was sailing the Bahamas, and I can't thank y'all enough for your sweet posts!
I have so many pictures to share with y'all, and I plan on dragging this honeymoon recap out as looooong as possible while not so secretly wishing I was back at those beaches.
Our cruise didn't leave until Sunday, so we thought it would be fun to head down to Florida a couple days early and enjoy some extra fun in the sun. Our cruise was leaving from Port Canaveral, Florida so we stopped a little short, and ended up spending Friday night and Saturday in Daytona.
The drive down was ridiculously rainy, and almost scary at times, so we really didn't get to our hotel until laaaate Friday night. We originally planned on heading out to a restaurant/bar on the beach, but ended up eating waffles & bacon at IHOP instead...real honeymoonish, we know. ;)
Cody and I had never been to the beach together, so when we finally hit the sand Saturday morning, we were both so excited we finally made it.
When a storm blew in, we headed back to our room, ended up taking an unplanned nap and then got ready together for dinner on the Daytona strip. We ended up sitting at the bar at Wing House, where I then ate the most delicious fried pickles I have ever eaten in my entire life. They were so good, they were worth mentioning.
Sunday, we checked out early so we could start our trip towards Port Canaveral to board our cruise ship.
Port Canaveral + Day at Sea pictures tomorrow!
Happy Monday!
So glad you had fun. Our cruise was in Miami so we stopped in Jacksonville one night and West Palm Beach the second. The beaches @ West Palm were amazing! Can't wait to see the rest of your trip recap!

I think the cheap/casual dates, such as IHOP, are often the best memories...and IHOP has damn good mozzarella cheese sticks.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Daytona in years! Looks like it was a fun stop along the way!
